You can stroll anywhere in the city center and the streets are laid out on a grid plan making navigation straightforward. If you like walking, Paseo Montejo is only six blocks north from Santa Lucía and one block east from Santa Ana church. Visitors who would rather not walk can take a taxi or travel in style in a calesa or traditional horsedrawn carriage.    To get an overview of Mérida, take the Turibus City Tour, a one-hour drive around the city calling in at the main square, Paseo de Montejo, Colonia Itzimna, Gran Plaza shopping center and Prolongación Montejo. The bus departs at 8:30 a.m. in the vicinity of the Fiesta Americana and Hyatt hotels, and the guide will point out 33 sites of interest.    You can also purchase a “get on, get off” option, which enables you to follow the route, using its designated stops to explore the city at your own pace. The buses stop every 30 minutes between 8:30 a.m. and 10 p.m.
